History of Lemley Design.

We have evolved from a “pretty, but dumb,”  team of designer rock-stars to become one of the nation’s thought leaders in retail brand and packaging design. Since our long-haired and air-guitar-filled beginnings in 1986, we’ve built a reputation for providing large agency services, resources and sophistication with a level of responsiveness and attentiveness that can only be provided by a specialized firm.

Our clients know that we understand their businesses, their competition. . . their brand relevancy and customer loyalty challenges. Bottom line: we understand the pressure to deliver top line growth and bottom line profits. We get there through extensive research deep into the retail core to uncover the differentiating attributes that enable us to uniquely brand—or rebrand--and position our clients’ retail businesses.

We turn retail strategies into meaningful connections with the customer in cultural context. From our long associations with cultural anthropology, we know that uncovering the cultural cues that forge deeper connections and meaningful experiences. . . that engage the customer on an visceral level.

Our client projects have been recognized by numerous design competitions and leading international publications, among them: Retail Advertising Federation (RAMA), Communicating Arts, Print, HOW, Graphis, NY Art Directors Club, American Corporate Identity, Graphic Design USA and STEP.
